Did you watch the CMA Awards last year?

In 2013 the awards show was once again a major television event and a wonderful showcase for the country radio format.

Here at Impact Target Marketing we made history by conducting a real-time survey of viewers (and country radio listeners) throughout the broadcast and pushed messages to country fans who had downloaded our Country Rewards app.  This was a radio first.  For all the radio stations across the country who made the Country Rewards app a part of their 2013 strategy,  the CMA program was extraordinary.  They know, because their listeners responded in real time during the show and tuned in the very next morning.  Their competitors missed a major opportunity for deep engagement.

Listeners may have been watching TV, but they were interacting with the screen in their hand.   That was the first time that radio, and a targeted smartphone app came together to engage radio fans during a major awards show.   Our participating stations got higher engagement and a stronger connection with this important listener event than any station that purchased TV commercials during the broadcast….for a fraction of the cost.

Last Fall the Country Rewards smartphone app was a huge success for participating stations during the months of October and November.  The majority of our stations saw strong ratings growth.   This exciting new tool sought out and connected with survey-friendly country music fans and kept them engaged.   Listeners always have their smartphone and with Country Rewards we were able to push reminders to listen to them in real time.  It just worked!

Coming in March of 2014 we will again be launching the Country Rewards mobile app.  Participating stations can expect even better results as we deliver the 2.0 version of this app.
